Seras Victoria begins the series as a young officer in the London Police Department's elite D-II Corps. She's only nineteen and is obviously a new addition to the team. Her fellow officers don't seem to take her very seriously, and somewhere along the line she was given the nickname "Kitten." You discover later in the series that Victoria's father was also a D-II officer. He has most likely died before the commencement of the series, but his fate is never clearly stated. It's insinuated that Victoria entered the D-II Corps to follow in her late father's footsteps. She is made a vampire by Alucard, Hellsing Institute's notorious "weapon" against the undead, in the first episode.
